Alexandra brings over 16 years of experience in the nonprofit sector to her role as Director of Marketing and Development at GENYOUth. Prior to joining the organization in August 2019, Alexandra held fundraising positions at a variety of arts & culture, community, education reform and youth development organizations, including the New York Hall of Science, Frederick Douglass Boulevard Alliance, Eye to Eye, NYC Outward Bound Schools, Stoked Mentoring, and the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. She also oversaw large revitalization grants made to cultural institutions after 9/11 at the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation and early in her career, supported college advisor and teacher professional development programs and managed corporate funded re-granting programs at New Visions for Public Schools.
Outside of the nonprofit sector, Alexandra has contributed stories to and copyedited for web and print publications, including RANGE Magazine, which is inspired by the culture of the modern outdoor movement, and Complex Media's youth culture branded content marketing sites, Green Label.com and PotentialofUs.com, for PepisCo's Mountain Dew and Verizon, respectively. A lifelong New Yorker, she earned her B.A. in Liberal Arts with concentrations in visual arts, anthropology and literature from Sarah Lawrence College and currently resides in Brooklyn.
